Dominion Energy to Acquire Southern Company's 5% Stake in ACP

Dominion Energy reports on the pending acquisition of Southern Company's 5% stake in the Atlantic Coast Pipeline:

Our acquisition of Southern Company’s 5% stake in the Atlantic Coast Pipeline underscores our confidence in and commitment to completing the project. Southern’s status as a customer for the ACP through its Virginia Natural Gas local distribution company remains unchanged.

The ACP is a transformational, state-of-the-art piece of infrastructure, as well as an essential partner for rapidly scaling up renewables. It will provide the reliable and steady energy needed to support solar and wind projects as we work toward our ambitious goal of being a net zero company by 2050. Communities across Hampton Roads, Virginia and eastern North Carolina are experiencing chronic shortages of natural gas now, and are depending on the ACP for the economic vitality, environmental health and energy security of the region.
